MAKARUCHA Takes NYFW: A Historic Placement for PGCA

Designer Placement

Latris Latrelle Creative Studios•August 10, 2026

This is the placement that matters.

Posh Group Creative Agency has officially signed our client Boris Makarucha and his brand MAKARUCHA into New York Fashion Week through The Confessional Showroom NYC. The showcase takes place September 10, 2026 — and for the studio, this moment represents exactly what we do and why we do it.

Boris Makarucha is an independent German fashion designer based in Weimar, Germany, whose work rejects trend-driven uniformity in favor of individuality, craftsmanship, and unapologetic self-expression. A self-taught designer who first discovered sewing through his father and an old Singer machine, Makarucha has built a body of work rooted in limited series and made-to-measure one-of-a-kind pieces — moving between precisely constructed classics and raw, deconstructed statements.

His label debuted on the runway in 2008. In 2009, the safety pin became his symbol: representing security, independence, and a commitment to the future. Makarucha works primarily with natural materials — cotton, silk, leather, and heavyweight Japanese denim — while also exploring unconventional textiles such as fish leather. His visual language draws on Asian symbolism: cherry blossoms for good fortune, koi for strength. Embroidery, hand-painted textiles, and intricate surface details give each piece its own identity.

Every piece is a statement. Every design is a deliberate break with convention.

Bringing MAKARUCHA to New York Fashion Week through The Confessional Showroom NYC is a defining milestone for the studio — and a testament to the designer's vision, craftsmanship, and the creative force he has built from his Weimar atelier to the global stage.

Welcome to New York, Boris.
